Q. How can I best determine what exactly I need for my new school and if it will fit properly in the rooms?
A. We provide a comprehensive needs assessment worksheet to begin the planning process. Once you have an idea of what types of items you need and the quantities, we will make specific model recommendations based on your budget and style preferences. We will then lay out your rooms on the computer in a scale drawing that will help you determine how to best arrange your furniture and if it will fit in the rooms with adequate clearances.
Q. Can I buy directly from the school furniture manufacturers?
A. Very few manufacturers will sell directly to a school. They rely on school furniture dealers and distributors to provide the service that schools need. In fact, Signature School Products is an authorized dealer for virtually every educational furniture manufacturer which allows us to recommend the best solutions for your school given your budget constraints and style preferences. This results in many more options and a better equipped facility. What’s more, we’ll help you stretch your budget by minimizing freight costs through consolidated shipments and shared truckloads.
Q. How long does it take to plan the furnishings for a school and what does it entail?
A. It is never too early to begin F&E planning and the earlier the process is started, the better the end result. We work with our school partners over the course of 3-6 months to create a turn-key package of products that support the school’s style of education while also considering ergonomics, space flexibility and environmental sustainability. This process includes space planning, selecting products and finishes, placing orders with various factories, consolidating shipments, scheduling deliveries and installation. We do this through multiple meetings and project document revisions to ensure the end result is a facility that is equipped with what it needs to be an attractive and effective learning environment.
